We had the sweetest opportunity when Anna and her family were looking for planning assistance for her Bat Mitzvah weekend. This young lady is truly going to make a beautiful impression on the world, and she's only just begun her journey into adulthood! It was a fabulous lineup of four events in three days!
On Friday, the family welcomed friends and family from out of town at a dinner on UNC Campus. A spectacular spread was prepared by XU Catering, including many Southern food favorites for Northerners to enjoy! The custom invitations by Cute Buttons had an adorable purple and teal circle pattern that Anna selected and the color theme was a part of the evening decor.
The next day began bright and early at Kehillah Synagogue for the B'nai Mitzvah. We were so impressed with the grace and maturity that Anna carried herself throughout the service. The amount of responsibility that she had to carry was really quite daunting but she took it all in stride, with the gentle guidance of Rabbi Jen. Immediately following the B'nai Mitzvah, the family hosted the congregation for a luncheon. The luncheon was catered by XU Catering and including beautiful salads, bagels and smoked salmon (we heard, but it was gone in a flash!).
Now it was time for a costume change and celebration at The Carolina Inn! The adults enjoyed a sunny cocktail reception on the Anne Hill Lawn with grilled lamb lollipops and pressed watermelon slices and the kids got to hit the dance floor and photo booth by Shutterbooth when they all arrived for the festivities. The Carolina Inn prepared a special menu for the kids, including a popcorn and french fry bar during cocktail hour and a signature "Purple!" mocktail. Cynthia Viola was capturing all of the special moments of the party and because of the Dad's musical background they had not one but two DJs, DJ A Minor and DJ SK. The DJs entertained the kids on the dance floor and also a custom mixing station. The adults were invited to the Chancellor Ballroom for dinner and were wowed by the theme in effect. Anna's favorite color is purple and we pulled out all the stops in the room decor. Custom floral centerpieces by Floral Expressions and custom balloon centerpieces and balloon letters by Balloons n Tunes were centered on upscale linens. Carolina Inn served seasonal salads and goat cheese tarlets and filet mignon. The kids had a super fun make your own sundae bar for dessert and spectacular cheesecake for adults. Delicate bon bons from Miel Bon Bons were a favor for the guests. For the kids we did goodie bags with glow sticks and other fun treats. Elevate provided motivational dancers for the party, getting everyone out on the dance floor. And of course we couldn't leave the night hanging without the traditional Hora!
The family, always the hostesses with the mostess, served a light brunch the following morning in their home, catered by XU Catering.
